ITINERARY

DAY 1 – ARRIVE TANZANIA/ARUSHA

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our staff will answer all your queries regarding your upcoming safari and provide you with a short briefing as well. Afterwards, you will be taken to your accommodation at Planet Lodge for dinner and overnight

DAY 2 – ARUSHA/MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast this morning depart on your road transfer with a picnic lunch to Lake Manyara National Park with game viewing within the park. Whose lake Ernest Hemingway claimed was “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The park offers a compact game-viewing circuit and is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. The lake itself covers two-thirds of the park and the Great Rift Valley provides a stunning backdrop.

Over 400 species of birds can be found in the Manyara, including thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants, and storks.

In the late afternoon we zig zag our way up the rift Valley Escarpment and onto the carter highlands for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast, descend through the early morning mists into Ngorongoro Crater.
The Crater is a world heritage site that is a haven for a variety of wildlife. Ngorongoro is the remnant of a volcano that blew apart, leaving a flat plain area ringed with steep walls, which now has a large soda lake, fresh springs and sheltering forests.

Enjoy a game drive lead by highly qualified guides in closed 4×4 game viewing vehicles. The structure of the Crater and the wildlife it attracts makes for a great African wildlife experience.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before returning to the lodge in the late afternoon.

DAY 4 – NGORONGORO/SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

We depart after breakfast to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Upon entering the Serengeti, we are able to game drive all the way to our special tented lodge area.
Enjoy game viewing en route to your camp arriving there in time for lunch.

DAY 5 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Another day to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti National Park. Explore the grass plains during morning and afternoon game drives when the animals are most active.
Early morning watch hippos return to water; giraffes foraging from trees; and lions returning from the evening hunt to relax in the shade of a tree. In the afternoon look out for cheetahs, crocodiles and leopards.

DAY 6 – SERENGETI / TARANGIRE

We transfer out of the Serengeti, passing through Oldupai Gorge. We enjoy lunch and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. We set off in the direction of Tarangire National Park and arrive to our camp for sunset. This camp provides us with a classic bush experience that ensures intimacy.

DAY 7 – TARANGIRE – ARUSHA – BEYOND

Early morning game driving in Tarangire National Park; this park is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and backdrop of baobabs. This is true Africa and the perfect way to end our adventures. You are then transferred to Arusha and your departure point or lodge Breakfast,
ACCOMMODATION: MARAMBOI TENTED CAMP (B, L, D)

DAY 8 – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK/ARUSHA/DEPART

Enjoy your last morning breakfast, and then your guide will start driving across the maasai steppe to Arusha. You will arrive in time for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and visit Shanga project. (B, L)

Shanga is a successful social enterprise which employs people with disabilities to create unique, high-quality, handmade jewellery, glassware and homeware using recycled materials. These products are sold in Tanzania and all over the world, with profits being reinvested back into development of new products and further employment of disabled people.

In the afternoon transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your scheduled flight
